Being released by former team is not totally a bad thing as the player is now with the freedom to choose a new team to join. That’s exactly what veteran running back Justin Fargas has now after failing his physical and being released by the Oakland Raiders right before he was due to get a $1.7 million roster bonus, and his first visit is with the Kansas City Chiefs.
"I don’t see that happening, no," Fargas told the San Francisco Chronicle. "I was told by the coach that they were moving in a different direction. They said it was strictly about money. I know some things were put out there, I guess they said I didn’t pass a physical. I’m a little disappointed by the way it happened but I understand it’s a business.”
Therefore, with the determination not to wear back the Raiders jersey, Fargas began his visit and research of possible new teams. After the visit to Chiefs, the next stop could be the San Francisco 49ers, which have been in contact with Fargas’ agent.

49ers RT Pashos to be lost for the season with shoulder injury
The San Francisco 49ers unwillingly placed right tackle Tony Pashos on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday after he had an MRI exam on the left shoulder. A blade on the shoulder was broken and Pashos will not be able to use it in the remaining season.
The veteran offensive lineman in 49ers jersey was hurt during Sunday’s 24-21 loss at Houston. It was the first time he started at right tackle in place of Adam Snyder and Coach Mike Singletary had hoped to make him the regular right tackle so as to improve things on the line. And now the injuries just destroyed all the plans.
Although Singletary did not speculate in Monday to the media about how the line would look come Sunday if Pashos was out, it was most likely that he would move Snyder back to right tackle and keep Chilo Rachal at right guard.

49ers LB Brooks may miss season opener to nurse left knee
The San Francisco 49ers linebackers Ahmad Brooks will likely miss the team’s season opener Sept. 13 at Arizona after having a surgery on his left knee, which might be initially hurt in practice and was aggravated during the team’s preseason win at Dallas on Saturday night.
The surgery was done on Monday at Stanford University after a Sunday MRI exam on Brooks’ left knee showed that he needed a surgery. And he may need two or three weeks to take care of the knee, from which a small bone fragment was removed in the surgery. So it is very unlikely that Brooks will make it to play in the season opener, which is just two weeks away.
However, it is better than last season. The fourth-year pro is in his second season with the 49ers and did not play any game last season. As for this season, as a backup outside linebacker to Parys Haralson, he will at least be able to have some playing time during the regular season, even if not available for season opener.
