Just like the first overall draft pick of 2010 NFL draft Sam Bradford, the third overall draft pick Gerald McCoy is still in talks with his team the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for his first NFL contract. While Bradford’s main concern is on how much he should be paid, McCoy is having his eyes on the progress of Bradford’s contract talks.
McCoy does not want to be lowly paid, after all he was drafted third overall. But he neither wants to overrate himself by asking for too much, so his current biggest wish is that Bradford signs his contract with the St. Louis Rams and then he will know how much he should ask for from the Bucs. Failing to put on Saints jersey because of his high ranking in draft picks, McCoy believes he deserves no much less than what Bradford can get, and of course no more than Bradford.
"It's kind of one of those deals where you would rather let the first pick sign first," McCoy caught in a Favre jersey by an Oklahoman reporter and talked about his contract talks. "You don't want to do your deal first and his contract is way higher than yours. But if you waited yours would have been higher."
